HOW IS INFORMATION PROTECTED?
eREC employs
security at two levels: control of access to account information and security of transmission over the Internet.
Account information is stored within a highly secure, firewall-protected database with daily backups, ensuring seamless availability. Account access security is accomplished by the use of personal access codes:
- User ID and Password for personal account maintenance / updates by the member; AND
- Double Password Protection to view emergency contact information by use of a confidential system generated eREC Member ID and optional Security Access Code.
Transmission security is achieved by the use of a security standard used by government and financial institutions to transmit sensitive information, which includes the highest level of encryption, or data encoding, available.
